What will we do?

“Qhapaq Ñan: The Great Inca Trail” is the new project developed by LimaTours, which aims to value the Inca roads in Peru. For 130 days, we traveled 3,200 kilometers from Tomebamba (Ecuador) to Cusco (Peru) with a single purpose: to raise awareness about the care of the route, recognize the historical and cultural legacy of the Great Inca Trail and develop new sustainable tourist circuits with the participation from local communities.

In this experience you will enjoy the spectacular view of the snow-capped mountains of the Cordillera Blanca from Huaraz, you will stroll through the Conchucos Alley, the Querococha lagoon and the Kahuish tunnel, considered one of the highest in the world. You will tour the ushnu (ceremonial platform) with an archaeologist who will explain the importance of the site. You will ascend the stone steps to the Wagapunta pass to more than 4,500 meters above sea level and be surprised by the panorama of the Andean peaks that will leave you breathless. You will visit the town of Ayash and the community of Huamanín in the middle of the Andes. It will descend to the town of Colpa and from there it will be transported to Huánuco Pampa, one of the most important administrative centers of Chinchaysuyo or northern region of Tahuantinsuyo. You will camp in Soledad de Tambo, Quenhuajirca, Tambo Grande and San Lorenzo de Isco. At the end of the trek, a private vehicle will transfer you back to Huaráz to your hotel.
